The Living Colors lamp can create a different atmosphere depending on the situation. For example, a yellow color to read, bright color for children’s games, and thin red for a special evening.

To better understand how it works, let’s see in detail all the features and recommended models.

Philips Living Colors Lamp: How they are made

We have already talked about the gradation of light that the lamp is able to create. But how are they made? They are table lamps that have an attractive, compact, and very modern design. The back of the product, the one that covers the light source, is created in white or black plastic, a useful choice depending on the home furnishings.

There are two different forms of the Living Colors that correspond to two different types of lamps: the Con Corporate Living Colors and the one with a semi-cylindrical shape, similar to a cup. According to the two models, it is possible to choose between different sizes, depending on the layout and use that you want to make in your home.

In some models supplied with the product, there is a remote control, useful for changing the intensity of the light even at a distance. The remote control can manage up to six lamps at the same time, which will, for obvious reasons, have the same modulation of light and color. You can also store 2 favorite colors by simply pressing the button on the remote control or the dial once the appropriate color is found.

One thing that we have not said yet, but it is worth pointing out, is that it is possible to obtain, in addition to the whole spectrum of colors, also various types of white light!

What we particularly like to highlight is the soft lighting effect created by the Living Colors lamp: it will be like having a natural light effect throughout the room, and to get the maximum effect, we recommend projecting it against the wall (white or light). Also, you can get a surprise light effect: turning the ring 360° and pressing the ” I ” button, the lamp will change color automatically.

In ecological terms, the Philips lamp is low consumption, the official description of Philips says that consumption is around 10-8 watts. A ridiculous figure for a lamp like that. Always the manufacturer indicates longevity of about 8 years to the lamp if used for a maximum of 2 hours per day.

Now that we have seen the general specifications, let’s see in detail which models we recommend for your purchase.

Philips Living Colors: 16 million color models

Philips Livingcolors Iris Colour Changing Mood Light Clear Integrated 1 X

Together with the Aura and Bloom models, it represents the top of the LivingColors range of lamps. Unlike the others, it has a completely different shape, much more rounded, similar to a small sphere. The back of the lamp is covered in semi-transparent rigid plastic that lets you glimpse the inside of the lamp itself and lets in a soft light that spreads throughout the room: you can choose between two different colors of plastic, black or white.

The upper part is that which affects the diffusion of light: the shielding of light is transparent. We come to the technical data: the Iris model produces as many as 16 million different colors, is equipped with a remote control to control it from a distance, and the LED bulb consumes only 10 W. The light intensity produced is equal to 210 lumens, and you can store up to two favorite color shades. Furthermore, by turning the remote control ring, the lamp will create automatic and random colors. Ideal for very large rooms.

Philips Living Colors Aura Table Lamp

The features are the same as the previous model: consumption, power, storage of favorite colors, use of the remote control, and a variant of 16 million colors. What changes first is the shape: if Iris had an almost spherical shape, Aura has a more attractive shape, especially suitable for living rooms and living rooms. No more spherical, but triangular.

The underlying part, also in this case made of plastic, can be chosen in white or black color: the plastic will let you see the inside of the lamp itself, for even wider diffusion. Aura has a much lower intensity than Iris: 210 lumens against the 120 lumens of Aura.

Precisely for this reason, if Iris is recommended for large rooms, Aura for slightly smaller rooms. On a positive note: Aura consumes 2 W less than Iris.

Mini Lamp

Let’s move on to the smaller lamps. Mini, as the name suggests, reaches a color range of 256. Definitely much lower than the previous ones. As well as the luminous intensity that stops at 70 lumens: the Mini lamp is ideal for children’s bedrooms, to create soft and soft light.

It is also recommended to place them on the back of televisions, to create a light that is not annoying while the television is switched on. Its shape is reminiscent of the elder sister Iris, slightly spherical. The lower part is made of plastic, and you can always choose white or black coloring.

In this case, the plastic is not transparent, so the light will be diffused only from the top of the lamp. The Mini model is not equipped with remote control, and the ring is placed in the upper part of the lamp. Thanks to the ring, you can set the automatic color selection.

Living Colors 64-color

Micro Lamp

The smallest of the LivingColors line, but has nothing to envy to the older ones. The soft chromatic intensity of 50 lumens makes it suitable for rooms and bedrooms for a diffuse and not very intense light. Equally like the previous one, the Micro lamp is the ideal choice to illuminate the space behind a television.

The shape is the same as that of Mini and Iris, only the dimensions are slightly lower, as lower are the colors available: in this case, ” only ” 64. It is not equipped with remote control, but there is the ring at the top of the product to set the color automation and the desired color. Its consumption is very low: only 4.7 W.
