As mentioned, the electric longboard looks like a long skateboard. There are generally four wheels at the ends of the board, but recently models with a single wheel protruding into the central portion of the board have also been proposed.
To make the longboard move, small remote controls are used that direct it to the various points of the space, thus making it a real remote-controlled device. Furthermore, it is a device equipped with technological sophistication that allows a balance to be used in complete safety without incurring ruinous imbalances.
The device is powered by a battery that is recharged through a common electrical outlet and, in some cases, can also be provided with quick charging options.
How to use the electric longboard
Just like a simple skateboard, you have to position your feet so that they are parallel and slightly spaced from each other: in this position, the weight is well distributed, and there are no balance problems. In models with one wheel, it is the wheel that defines the division that must exist between the two points to balance its center of gravity.
Once this is done, you will have to move the device with a small remote control: a wheel will determine the forward movements, and with other small movements, it will be possible to turn to one side or the other.

First, you need to inquire about the tightness of the device. Not all longboards can withstand all weights, so you must make sure that the device can carry the load without difficulty, also adding the weight of any backpacks or bags that you carry. The average electric longboards are designed to carry around 220 lbs of weight. The weight 4of the vehicle itself is irrelevant: it usually settles under 9 lbs.
Battery autonomy
The autonomy of charge is also very important; if you use an electric longboard to work, you must evaluate the path it can take before unloading not to risk being left on foot.
Typically, the best devices can cover 25 miles, usually enough for a whole week on routes within the city. The range varies according to the type of road and the weight of the passenger.
Charging speed
The charging speed should also be evaluated: if the autonomy runs out, and the device must be used for the following day, it is important that it loads quickly because it is not advisable to disconnect the longboard from the charge fully recharged. Typically, fast-charging models take about four hours.
Engine speed and power
The Electric longboards have a minimum speed that settles around 6 miles/h and reaches an average speed of 12 miles/h. The maximum speed reached is 18 miles/h, while the top models of the range even reach 30 miles/h. So if you have to give it to a child, consider the speed that this vehicle can reach.

The hardness of the wheels
Wheels are also a feature of fundamental importance for electric longboards: they are made of polyurethane and can have different hardnesses (measured in Shore A scale). The softer wheels are recommended for those who use this vehicle for travel: the suitable wheels are those with values between 75A and 90A.
Those who think of using the electric longboard for evolutions or freestyle can opt for a medium-high hardness, over the value of 90A.
